Delete Your Account

You can delete your HypeLap account and the data attached to it at any time. It is your data and your choice. Here is exactly how it works.
How to delete
- In the app: open the You tab, then Settings, then Delete account, and confirm. This is available in the App Store release of HypeLap.
- By email (works any time): email hello@hypelap.com from the email address linked to your account (or tell us the email shown on your Apple ID) with the subject “Delete my HypeLap account”. We will confirm that it is you and reply when it is done.
What we delete
- Your profile, display name, character, ride and photo.
- Your race history, results, splits, personal records and rivals.
- Your detailed position data (GPS points), voice notes you received or sent, and cheers in your recaps.
- Your watch links, which stop working immediately.
- Your device and notification tokens, and your sign-in link to Apple.
- Group races you host are closed, and you are removed from squads and group races you joined.
What we may keep
- Purchase records held by Apple and by RevenueCat, which Apple and the law require them to keep. They are not linked to your name by us after deletion.
- Records needed for safety and the law, such as reports about abusive content and the evidence for them, for as long as needed to protect people or meet a legal duty.
- Aggregate or anonymous statistics that cannot identify you.
- Encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a regular cycle (up to 35 days) and are not used for anything else.
Your workouts already saved in Apple Health are on your device and in your Apple Health account. You control them in the Health app and we cannot delete them for you.
How long it takes
In the app, your account is disabled right away and your data is deleted within 30 days. For email requests we reply within 2 business days to confirm, then complete deletion within 30 days.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple bills you, so cancel in your device's Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, before you delete. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you only watch and cheer
You do not have an account, so there is nothing to delete on our side except the cheers you sent. Clearing your browser's site data for hypelap.com removes the random identifier and the name saved on your device. To have a cheer you sent removed, email us the watch link or the runner's name and the time you sent it.
Get a copy of your data first
Want a copy of your race history and results before you go? Email hello@hypelap.com with the subject “Export my HypeLap data”. We will send it in a standard file format within 30 days.
